Introduction to Uttaradit Travel Guide

As a former commercial center on the Nan River, Uttaradit means ‘northern landing’ or ‘northern harbor’. Uttaradit is located in Thailand’s northern region. Phitsanulok, Sukhothai, Phrae, and Nan are neighboring Thai provinces.

During King Rama III’s reign, Mueang Phichai ruled over numerous territories in northern Siam, including Nan and Phrae, as well as Luang Prabang and Vientiane. A port was created at the point when the Nan River got shallow. As time goes by, the town increased in prominence as a trading center. The territory was renamed Uttaradit in 1915.

Uttaradit is excellent for outdoor enthusiasts. Nature’s beauty, food, and fruits are combined with long-standing traditions and communal cultures. There are many other rich and attractive natural attractions in Uttaradit province that are waiting for visitors to explore.
