Introduction to Lampang Travel Guide

Also known as the second largest province in the north, Lampang is a province in Northern Thailand that is rich in natural beauty. Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phayao, Phrae, Sukhothai, Tak, and Lamphun are neighboring provinces.

Lampang is a province with a history dating back over 1,300 years. The town was originally known as Kelang Nakhon before being renamed Nakhon Lampang. Nakhon Lampang was administered by the Khmer during the Yonok Chiang Saen era. It was then colonized by Burma and Chiang Mai under the reign of King Thonburi. In 1892, Lampang was established as a province in Thailand during the reign of King Rama V.

Lampang is a resort town in northern Thailand that retains a nostalgic feel. Tourists can start their journey within the city, which still uses carriages for transportation. This has become a province-wide distinguishing feature. There are numerous beautiful attractions and natural landscapes that await visitors.
